Equipment and Comfort were also high up the list for Audi and Porsche. But so it should for a car that retailed for over £48000 in 1994. Standard equipment included air conditioning, electric sunroof, Leather or Alcantara/leather recaro sports front seats, electric windows and central locking. A six speed gearbox was also standard as well as 17inch Porsche cup alloy wheels and ABS braking. All RS2's had a drivers airbag as standard although the steering wheel changed during production from the plain offering (shown left) to a more sporty 3 spoke wheel (shown below) during the cars short production life. There were extremely few optional extras to be had, the only obvious one being CD stack. The RS2 used the S2's familiar light grey instruments with amber night illumination and carbon fibre inlays on it's dashboard.

Electric recaros were standard with a choice of hard wearing materials. Black leather most common but leather and alcantara suede in a choice of colours was also a popular choice and gave the cabin a less osteer feel.

As estate cars go, the RS2 although practical could only be considered in the compact capacity. Rear seats good for 2 adults but cramped for 3 with good headroom but limited legroom. The boot area bosted 60/40 split folding seats with detachable luggage cover. CD multi player sited awkwardley in the test car above, but usually located in the spare wheel well.
